THE LOOP

Elevate the process, one loop at a time

Import, measure, review. The product is built around the loop rather than around a wall of features — each stage exists to feed the next.

STAGE 01

Import & verify

A broker export goes in; a preview you approve comes first. Nothing is written to your history until the rows, the mapping and the counts make sense to you.

  • IBKR Flex Web Service sync, token in an encrypted vault
  • CSV with column mapping, a sample table and row-level errors
  • Re-importing the same file is a no-op, not a doubled account
  • Every fill accounted for — imported, skipped, or named in the error list.

STAGE 02

Measure & drill

Fills become round trips, round trips become metrics, and every metric keeps a door back to the trades behind it. The drill-through is the feature.

  • Gross, net, fees and R-multiple computed from your own fills
  • Break down by hour, weekday, symbol, setup, hold time or R bucket
  • Fee-aware accounting, because commission is where small edges go
  • No orphan figures: a number without its trades is a number you can't act on.

STAGE 03

Review & refine

The loop that changes behaviour: journal the decision while it is fresh, tag the setup and the mistake, then check in the weekly review whether the habit is paying.

  • Notes per trade and per day, with targets and stops as set
  • Setup and mistake taxonomies, with the cost of each mistake
  • Exit-rule simulator: what a flat-risk rule would have done instead
  • Discipline measured, not assumed.

THE PRODUCT

Five screens, and no screenshots

WHAT IT DOES

Six things that change what you do next week

No feature-list padding. Each card is a piece of the product you will use on a normal Tuesday.

IMPORT

Import without the busywork

Direct broker sync or a CSV with column mapping. Re-syncing is idempotent — overlapping statement windows will not duplicate your history.

ACCOUNTING

P&L that survives scrutiny

Executions roll up into round trips with configurable accounting. Gross, net, fees and R-multiple computed from your fills rather than estimated.

FIFO matching · fees attached per fill

REPORTS

Reports that answer questions

Break performance down by hour, weekday, symbol, setup, hold time, tag or R bucket. Drill from any figure into the trades behind it.

SCALE

A virtualised table with saved filters and bulk actions, so a long history stays responsive instead of becoming a spreadsheet you avoid.

JOURNAL

ADHERENCE

Score yourself against your plan

Define setup and mistake taxonomies, then track adherence. The point is not a grade — it is isolating which habits are actually paying.

A number you cannot drill into is a number you cannot act on. Each panel below is live in the app, over the same sample book the rest of this page uses.

HOW IT WORKS

From statement to insight

Three steps, and the third one is the reason the first two exist.

  1. 01

    Connect or upload

Sync an Interactive Brokers account with a Flex token, or drop in a CSV and map the columns. Nothing is written until you confirm the preview.

  2. 02

    Review the fills

Executions are grouped into round trips, fees attached, average entry and exit calculated. Fix anything that looks wrong before it reaches your stats.

  3. 03

    Ask better questions

Query the data by dimension, then open the trades behind any figure. A number you cannot drill into is a number you cannot act on.

ONE LOG, FIVE ASSET CLASSES

Whatever you trade lands in the same accounting

Stocks, options, futures, forex and crypto share one import pipeline and one round-trip model — so the win rate you see is computed the same way across everything you trade.

BROKER SYNC

One integration, done properly

Direct sync is built on Interactive Brokers’ Flex Web Service. You generate a token and a query once in Client Portal; we never ask for your broker username or password, and the token is stored encrypted in a vault rather than in the application’s own tables.

Everything else arrives by CSV with a column-mapping preview. We would rather support one integration properly than list two hundred we have not tested.

Scope note: CSV import and IBKR sync are in the MVP. Adapters for other brokers are planned, not shipped.

  1. 1Create a Flex Query in Client Portal and note its Query ID.
  2. 2Enable Flex Web Service and generate an access token.
  3. 3Paste both into Options Whale and run the first sync.
  4. 4Re-sync whenever you like — overlapping windows are de-duplicated.
